***The not so fine print the lawyers want us to include: As we are contracted with different health insurance companies such as Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon and a few others (we are preferred participating providers for BC/BS) we may not be able to extend this offer to individuals wanting to self-bill their health insurance or have us bill their insurance depending on the insurance companies' contracts with us. Many health insurance companies require us to bill a set predetermined fee for services. In summary this offer may not be valid when we bill your health insurance, auto insurance or worker's compensation insurance as each has its own fee schedule. This offer may be canceled or changed at any time.

What sets us apart from the rest of the pack or peloton?
The Bicycle Chiropractor is the first Chiropractic clinic of its kind in Oregon and perhaps the world. We are dedicated to Portland bicyclists. We begin your exam and adjustments on your bike. We incorporate a hands on approach to determining a proper fit and ideal biomechanics on your bike. We also apply the postural corrective techniques of Chiropractic BioPhysics / Clinical Biomechanics of Posture (CBP) to clients off their bikes. We have the ability to make biomechanical and structural improvements in the spine through postural exercises, postural Chiropractic adjustments and postural traction.

What can you expect with a visit to The Bicycle Chiropractor?
The Bicycle Chiropractor clinic has room for 3 client's bicycles mounted on CycleOps and Ascent bicycle trainers facing a big screen LCD TV and stereo surround sound. We play Portland bicycle activity slide shows or professional bike races from the perspective of bicycle mounted cameras. You can race along with professional riders on the TV or leisurely pedal on your bike, what your usual riding style is. I am currently working on creating
Can you really ride your bike in our office?
We invite our clients to take their bikes for a spin in our office on a Cyclops kinetic bike trainer. We evaluate your bicycling posture and body bio-mechanics on the bike while you are riding. We help to make postural and bio-mechanical and corrections while you ride. We take digital pictures of you on your bike from all sides to show you your bicycling posture and to help you visualize postural corrections. We can take digital video of your cycling performance for further bio-mechanical analysis. I will make minor adjustments to your bike set up if needed. For major bike adjustments I can recommend you to a qualified bike shop.
Can you really adjust someone while they are on their bike?
I use Neuromechanical Innovations Impulse and Impulse iQ Chiropractic adjusting instruments and manual Chiropractic adjusting techniques while you are still on your bike. The Impulse iQ uses an internal computerized microprocessor, accelerometer and pressure plate to detect abnormal spinal stiffness and make corrections accordingly. (Impulse research) After your ride you bike and we have improved your cycling posture & bio-mechanics we will finish your adjustments on the Chiropractic table.
Why do we begin your exam and adjustments on your bike?
Often, aches and pains are only brought out while you are riding your bike, and are they are relieved with rest. This gives us a real time, real world scenario for evaluating and correcting bicycling related poor posture, faulty bio-mechanics, aches and pains. In the past, clients who biked would lie down on the Chiropractic table and say that they started to feel better immediately. This was because they were resting, not vertically aligned under gravity and not exercising. An exam while one is resting makes an accurate evaluation even more difficult because the client has to describe the discomfort from memory versus actualizing the discomfort.
What else besides bike riding analysis and Chiropractic adjustments does The Bicycle Chiropractor offer?
We have an all natural exercise physiotherapy suite for advanced bio-mechanics and postural training. Here we work with Neuromechanical Innovation’s Impulse iQ adjusting instrument, Medicordz power bands, balance boards, exercise balls, free weights, exercise bikes, a ProForm Activator V7 vibration technology platform and more to help maximize core strength, extremity strength, range of motion and balance. Dr. Pierce has created sport specific exercise routines that are diverse and dynamic and in under 10 minutes will train you harder than most traditional 30 - 60 minute routines in the gym.
Can Dr. Pierce adjust other parts of my body besides my spine?
Dr. Pierce in addition to adjusting the spine adjusts the extremities including the arches of the feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, jaw and ribs. The carpal and metacarpal bones of the wrist can become subluxated from the jarring forces of the bike's handle bars transmitting the bumps of the road or trail into the rider's upper extremities. This can lead to numbness and tingling in the hands and tired muscles. The tarsal and metatarsal bones of the feet can become subluxated from the stresses of prolonged pedaling leading to numbness and tingling or pain in the feet and cramping. Chiropractic extremity adjustments are designed to help these specific types of joint subluxations.

Rides:
Portland, Oregon Tweed Ride Virtue & Vice
This ride was such a great time that I really shouldn't say too much more. Here is the video of the beginning of the ride. Shortly before I snapped a pedal off my poor Western Flyer. I ran my bike back to my shop and grabbed the 1915 Autocycle for a replacement and a little extra flare. Coincidentally, I picked up a fine new tweed hat today at Saturday Market from The Hat People - hatpeople.com. I'll definitely be sporting this hat at the PDX Bike Show this next weekend. I hope to see you there.
This testimonial made my day!

Ride safely,
